Chas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. He currently holds professional engineering licenses in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Chas has served as the Vice-President and President of the Structural Engineers Association of Mississippi, where he currently serves on the board as the Past President. In addition to engineering credentials, Chas is a LEED Accredited Professional with a specialty in Building Design and Construction.
With more than nine years of experience in the structural engineering field, Chas has experience in a wide variety of project types. While working for a nationally-acclaimed structural engineering firm, Chas was a key contributor on several regionally and nationally recognized projects in healthcare, condominiums, museums, and entertainment. He was a key member of the design team on a project that won an ACEC Engineering Excellence Award in 2011 for Target Field (Minnesota Twins' baseball stadium) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Upon returning home to Mississippi, Chas has been the Engineer of Record on numerous projects, including schools, airport terminals, university buildings and water and wastewater plants. Along with new construction projects, Chas has been involved in several historic restoration projects, including Jefferson College, Tougaloo Mansion, and the Historic Sumrall Jail. Whether evaluating historic structures or performing finite element analysis on a modern architectural design, Chas has the technical capability to provide the structural engineering services required for projects of any size or complexity.
